From Homeless and Hungry to Wholeness and Helping, by Yvette Carter as told to Jeannette (Wayman) Meitz

Domestic violence, rape, prison, homelessness, food insecurity, and cancer have given Yvette Carter the compassion and ability to minister to others.   This is her heart-rending story of living in the streets, dealing drugs, and leaving her two young children with her mother when she was sent to prison for six years, followed by losing everything, being homeless, hungry and without hope. That despair drove her to beg for food at St. Paul, where she found God’s redeeming grace. Then God began to unravel her crazy life and give her the marriage and ministry He uniquely created her for.

Yvette Carter is Director of Open Arms Ministry, an outreach of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, Florida,  Jeannette (Wayman) Meitz a spiritual mentor, finds joy in guiding women to trust God and depend on the Holy Spirit daily. With her husband, Frank, she is active in the Discipler Training International ministry, and is on the Board of Victor Newman Ministries.

Suzanne Morgan Williams

Suzanne Morgan Williams is an award-winning author of books for children aged 10 to 15. Her novel, Bull Rider, represented Nevada at the National Book Festival in Washington D.C., won a Western Heritage Award from the National Western Heritage and Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City, and was a Junior Library Guild Selection. Her nonfiction work is multicultural. Suzanne regularly speaks to school and library groups across the country and gives writers' workshops for adults and students. She was Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators' (SCBWI) 2012 Member of the Year.
