Meeting Information

Weather – temperatures in Savannah in October average in the upper 70s daytime and low 60s nighttime.

Air Travel – For those flying, the recommended destination is the Savannah/Hilton Head International airport.  Local transportation from the airport to The Brice hotel is readily available at an approximate cost of $35 - $40 each way.

Auto Travel – If you are driving or renting a car, the Brice Hotel has valet parking available for a negotiated rate of $30.00 per night.  The hotel's address is 601 East Bay Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

Business Program – Arrival, registration and a Welcome Reception/Dinner will take place on Sunday, October 1023rd.

Business sessions will be conducted on Monday and Tuesday mornings, and this year we are honored to have former NYL President, Fred Sievert giving us an update on what he has been doing post-retirement, including talking about his latest book, Fast-Starting a Career of Consequence.  We will also have an update on the American College and in particular our college intern program.  Our other speakers will be announced later, as we get closer to the date.  The latest meeting adenda may be seen here...

Departure will be on Wednesday, October 26th.

Attire – "Business casual" (shorts/slacks & collared shirts) is recommended for the business sessions; shorts/slacks & collared shirts or cocktail dress is optional for the planned dinners.

Optional Tours and Activities


Georgia Port Authority Tour - (Monday) - Since 1945, Georgia’s ports have served as magnets for international trade and investment, enriching the state’s economy to benefit all Georgians. Come see the Savannah Port up close on an exciting 90 minute - 20-mile boat trip! Our guide will take you upriver discussing in detail all the terminals on the river, what they do, produce, and sell. You will see a variety of ships like bulk, chemical and container ship and our guide will give you examples of the various products that are produced and sold throughout the world. He will also talk about the history of the port and when it was started as a commercial entity and where it is going in the future.


Hop On, Hop Off City Trolley Tour (Monday or Tuesday) – Ride along and see all the highlights of Savannah’s Historic District in about 90 minutes. Meander past 15 stops at the city’s most popular historic sites. You can Hop off when you want to take a closer look or stay on board if a simple drive by will do. And always be on the lookout for Old Savannah Tour’s signature Savannah characters to charm you with their colorful personalities along the way.


Two Hour Historical Walking Tour - (Tuesday) – The very best way to get to know the Hostess City is to stroll along her waterfront and through her squares with a knowledgeable and experienced guide. Local author Robert Edgerly was born at the Telfair Infirmary for Women in Savannah, where he was raised and has lived most of his life. Having written a book on local history and hauntings, a private walking tour with Robert offers unmatched access to and information about Savannah by weaving history and culture, anecdotes and regional lore. Robert describes the city's rich past from her settlement by the British to a bustling cotton port and now the fourth largest container port in the US to her status today as a top travel destination that adds to this history art galleries, designer and antique shops, world-class restaurants, and local watering holes. Golfing – While we are not hosting an official golf event, for those who are interested in golfing, you can contact The Club at Savannah Harbor.  This course offers unparalleled views of historic downtown Savannah while it gently winds its way through tidal wetlands.  In the true Troon Golf tradition, you can be assured a round at The Club at Savannah Harbor is certain to provide an enjoyable and challenging golfing experience for players of all abilities.
