RMC Outreach - The American College Internship Program
One of the missions of the RMC is to support industry specific endeavors to improve the financial services industry and enhance the standing and reputation of NYLIC in the industry. To that end, we have an ongoing project - The American College Internship Program & Endowment Fund. Details about the project and how to become involved may be found below.
The American College Internship Program &
Endowment Fund
The RMC Endowment Fund helps support New York Life and The American College by providing an annual summer internship program at the American College of Financial Services (see below for details to the 2025 Internship program). This program is for college students or recent graduates interested in a career within the profession to gain a deeper understanding of the industry. As you can see from the video below, we had 2 interns in 2024. The first was Franklin Ng, junior at Binghamton University majoring in Accounting and Management Information Systems. You read Franklin's Thank You to the RMC letter here. Franklin interned with The College of CAP & CFP Programs department. The second was Alexander Ye, a senior at Stony Brook University majoring in Multidisciplinary Arts with a focus on Music, Business, and Education. Your can read Alexander's Thank You to the RMC letter here. Alexander interned with the Marketing and Communications department. You can hear their stories in the video below The American College greatly appreciated having these 2 interns working with them over the summer as well as all the previous interns the RMC has supported in the past:
This dynamic internship is for relatives of RMC members and New York Life employees and agents, although RMC members' relatives are given first consideration. Qualified candidates are college students in their junior or senior year or recent graduates looking to gain some real world work experience, preferably pursuing a degree in a related field.
While gaining experience working in an office environment and polishing computer skills for business applications, the intern assisted with the design and distribution of publications and outreach materials, helped organize educational events and carried out general administrative assignments and special projects. This intern program provides a competitive salary, along with the opportunity to attend educational sessions and to earn three college credits, which may be transferable to the college the intern is attending.
Your contribution to the RMC Endowment Fund allows you to make a difference in the life of a young person considering a career in the financial services field, and to also support RMC's efforts to create a legacy in our industry. We intend to continue this internship for many generations to come. However, to do so, we need your financial support. I hope you will join others by offering your generous support today. You may contribute either online directly at the American College website or by mail.
